No reviews

This homemade tallow deodorant is simple, effective, and easy to make, with none of the harmful chemicals or additives found in commercial options. It’s time to beak up with commercial antiperspirants for good!

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: about 4oz

Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp (85g) beef tallow
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup arrowroot powder or cornstarch
  • Essential oil(s), optional

Instructions

  1. Add baking soda and arrowroot powder/cornstarch to melted tallow. Stir to combine and make sure that no lumps remain. If you want to add essential oils for scent, do so here.
  2. Pour into old (emptied, cleaned, & dried) deodorant container(s) and refrigerate until solid. If you have more than fits in your deodorant container, store it in a small container that can be reheated later for an easy refill.
  3. Store and use your homemade tallow deodorant just as you would any conventional deodorant!

Notes

  • If the baking soda irritates your skin, either discontinue use or try reducing the baking soda by 1 tbsp and increasing the arrowroot powder/cornstarch by 1 tbsp.
